The Three Phases Explained

DISCOVER

Every journey starts with clarity.

In this phase, the Discover process gathers insights needed to answer three important questions:

  • What do I want?

  • What does my business need?

  • What will make me stand out

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS PHASE:

  • During this 1-day workshop, we define what success looks like, align on vision and values, and identify any major “red flag” risks.

  • After our Create workshop, Agora advisors get busy conduction our comprehensive, 40-point assessment of your business. During this proprietary discovery process we synthesize data, conduct key stakeholder interviews, delve into market research, and conduct a valuation, all of which will be summarized in our RQ Score™ and comprehensive report-out.

  • We conclude the Assess phase with an engaging, interactive, facilitated 1.5 day workshop in which we deliver your comprehensive report and RQ Score™, along with our estimated valuation of your business. We’ll also facilitate opportunity mapping sessions, resulting in clear next steps and priorities.

  • At the conclusion of the Discover phase, our clients can expect to receive:

ELEVATE

Now that you know where you stand, it’s time to take action.

In this phase, we build and implement a roadmap to elevate your enterprise value and optionality- whether through organic growth, leadership upgrades, M&A, operational fixes, or anything in between.

In other words, we get busy implementing your plan and delivering real results.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS PHASE:

  • During this 1-day workshop, we take the outputs from our Discover phase and, using facilitated tools and engaging conversations, develop the most pressing priorities and our plan of attack to put them into motion.

  • Now that we’ve built our plan in the Create session, it’s time to go do. You’ll be paired with an Agora advisor who will meet with you on a regular cadence to offer expert coaching and keep everyone accountable to our goals. All the while, the advisor will be re-calibrating your RQ Score™, determining how your improvements are impacting your business in a measurable way.

  • After a pre-defined period of time (typically 6 or 12 months), we facilitate another engaging workshop in which we deliver your updated RQ Score™, updated comprehensive report, and new estimated valuation. We’ll review wins, gaps, and decide what’s next. You’ll finally be able to put a dollar figure next to your strategic efforts.

  • Throughout the course of the Elevate phase, our clients can expect to receive:

    • Your updated RQ Score™ & Comprehensive Report

    • Updated Estimated Valuation

    • KPIs & Management Scorecard

    • Accountability Tracker

    • Growth & Optimization Roadmap

POSITION

When you’re ready to go to market, positioning is everything.

In this phase, we translate your momentum into a compelling narrative, ensure your documentation is bulletproof, and support you in preparing for conversations with brokers or buyers.

You’ve worked hard, now it’s time to get ready to receive the reward… successfully selling your business at maximum value.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS PHASE:

  • During this 1-day workshop, we take develop our plan to get your business to market. We’ll talk timing and review your readiness. Gaps will be identified across your documentation and narrative, and we’ll come up with a plan to address.

  • Similar to the Elevate phase, your advisor will meet with you on a regular basis in order to help put your plans into action. We’ll be working on things like prepping materials, cleaning up operations, and compiling KPIs and other important narrative materials. We’ll also act as a liaison for supplemental support you may need such as legal, tax, or bankers. During this phase we’ll also be doing our final re-calibration of your RQ Score™ & Comprehensive Report.

  • In this final workshop, we’ll spend about half a day reviewing your final RQ Score™ and Comprehensive Report. We’ll discuss our estimated valuation, and review the narrative that we recommend you bringing to your broker or banking partner that will be officially listing your business for sale.

  • Throughout the course of the Position phase, our clients can expect to receive:

    • Updated Estimated Valuation
